Dr. Hoopes, Jr. is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and is a fellowship trained cornea specialist.
He joined Hoopes Vision in Draper, Utah in 2005 after completing his professional education. He completed his undergraduate education at Brigham Young University and his medical education at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Dr. Hoopes stayed at Wake Forest for his internship and residency in ophthalmology, where he was co-chief resident in his final year. After residency, Phillip completed a fellowship in cornea at Eye Consultants of Atlanta where he was able to perform nearly 100 corneal transplants and hundreds of cataract and LASIK procedures.

Dr. Hoopes’ clinical interests include cornea transplantation, refractive surgery, cornea diseases and surgery, and cataract surgery. He has performed over 6,000 refractive procedures, 4,000 cataract procedures, and hundreds of corneal transplants. He is fluent in Spanish and Portugese, and volunteers his skills regularly for surgical brigades to Honduras. Phillip and his wife Tricia are the proud parents of three sons and a daughter.
